What to put on a law firm landing page
Someone reading a law firm's page is often facing a stressful decision. They want to know if you handle their kind of matter, how a first conversation works and what it may cost. Clarity and restraint beat bold language here.
The sections your law firm page needs
First screen
Name the practice area and the place in the heading, for instance "Family and property law in Springfield". Add a single button to request a consultation. Leave out slogans about winning; they invite doubt, and many bar rules restrict that kind of claim.
Practice areas
Give each area its own short entry: what kinds of matter you take, and what you do not. Saying clearly that you do not handle something saves both sides time. Use the words a person would type, such as "divorce" or "wills", with the formal name beside it.
Why people work with you
Stick to facts that can be shown: years in practice, languages spoken, how quickly messages are answered, fixed-fee options. Do not cite past results or name anyone you acted for; confidentiality and advertising rules usually forbid it.
How you work
Describe the path from first message to resolution in plain steps: initial conversation, a written explanation of options, an agreed scope, regular updates. Explain that every matter differs and that you cannot promise an outcome.
Consultation and fees
State what the first meeting involves, how long it lasts and whether it is free, fixed or hourly. Describe your billing method, such as hourly rates, fixed fees or retainers, without quoting figures that will date quickly.
Questions and contact
Answer questions about confidentiality, response times and remote meetings. Add office address, hours and a short request form handled by your own service. Warn visitors not to send sensitive details until you have confirmed you can act.
Wording tips
- Prefer short sentences and everyday words; explain any Latin or technical term in brackets.
- Add a line that the page is general information and not legal advice for a specific case.
- Check your jurisdiction's advertising rules for lawyers before you publish.
- Never show names, case details or outcomes of people you have acted for.
What to replace in the template
- The firm name, office address, phone number and opening hours in the header and the contact block.
- The six practice areas: keep the matters you take, in your own words, and delete the rest.
- The consultation block, with how long the first meeting lasts and how you bill.
- The attorney-advertising notice, which is generic and must be replaced with the wording your regulator requires.
How the template maps to this advice
The lawyer demo uses these blocks: hero, practice areas, why-us, process, area, a consultation section, faq and contact. The consultation block replaces the pricing block of the other templates. Edit the text, remove what does not apply and keep it short.
Open the law firm demo to see the blocks in place, read how to edit and publish a template, or see what is included in the law firm template. Every file is plain HTML with the CSS inside it and no JavaScript.
